The job today

The book has to be right, and it has to be on time

A Price Book needs to be accurate & timely. Production by hand risks both. Every manual step is an opportunity to ship an error or cause delay. Be first to market, meet every deadline.

Spreadsheets don't scale

A full card fans out to ~856,000 rows across profile, DNO, term and band. That is past the point a person checks or a workbook holds together — it's where formulas silently break and errors hide.

The rounding must be exact

Uplift, standing-charge split and TAC are computed at full precision, then published at 3dp — the convention suppliers price to. Round it the wrong way and every meter is quietly off.

The formats are unforgiving

Portal upload, broker flat file, internal file and the UD upload each want their own columns and conventions — down to the LLF prefix. One field wrong and the file bounces.

How it works

Four pages: upload a card, download a book

One linear workflow — Admin, Tariff Creation, Pricing, Export. No relearning: it runs the way a pricing team already works, left to right.

01 — Admin

Ingest the rate card

Upload the supplier card. It's validated on the way in, versioned to a rate-card ledger and logged, so every priced book traces back to the exact card it came from. Electricity or gas, read natively.

02 — Tariff Creation

Set the recipe once

Consumption bands, margin uplift in p/kWh or %, the standing-charge split, deal and product type. Save it as a reusable product. Optional goal-seek bends margin to hit target market prices, segment by segment, with an audit trail of every adjustment.

03 — Pricing

Calculate the whole book

One action prices every tariff. The engine computes uplifted rates, standing charges and TAC at full precision, then publishes at 3dp. The run is stored, so it survives a reload.

04 — Export

Publish to spec

One click per format: portal upload, broker flat file, internal file, UD upload — xlsx or csv, each to its exact column spec. Re-download any past run without re-pricing.

The mechanism in one line: full precision in, 3dp out. The engine holds every rate and TAC at full precision internally and rounds only on publish, to the 3-decimal convention suppliers actually use. So the numbers match theirs, not an approximation of them.

Proof point

A full book, priced in seconds

Benchmark: a real supplier electricity card — the kind that expands to roughly 856,000 priced rows once every profile, region, term and band is applied. By hand, a multi-minute grind no spreadsheet survives.

Coverage

What it covers today

Electricity

NHH & HH

Non-Half-Hourly (single, Day/Night, Evening & Weekend) and Half-Hourly with capacity charges. Capacity is passed through untouched — never uplifted.

Gas

Smart banding

Gas rate cards with smart banding — it re-bands or passes through the supplier's own bands as needed. Carbon-offset and green products carried through.

Outputs

Goal-seek & exporters

Competitive goal-seek against target prices, plus seven export formats across the two fuels — the downstream shapes each supplier's systems demand.

It turns "we'll have the new book by end of week" into "here's the new book" — priced, rounded, in the portal's own format.

It sits furthest upstream

The priced book it produces is what everything downstream bills, settles and ranks against.

Your method, encoded

The uplift, the standing-charge split, the rounding convention — your pricing desk's own method, not generic software bent toward energy.

Re-pricing becomes an action

Not a task that takes a week. Run it whenever the market moves. In production and pricing real books today.

We'll price the whole book and send it back export-ready, in your portal's own format, correctly rounded — then you tell us how long that used to take.
