The operating layer for
the rest of your business

We document your processes, standardise your management information, and generate your reporting from one governed record per area of the business — with a weekly rhythm your team runs, without us.

The problem

You will recognise at least three of these.

Every one of them has the same cause — and it isn't the people, and it isn't the systems.

Symptoms
5 of 5 fixable

01

Reporting is a person

Not a system

When that person is on holiday, the business goes dark. When they leave, it goes dark permanently.

02

Five versions of the truth

Nothing reconciles them

The CRM says one thing, the ledger says another, and the spreadsheet somebody maintains says a third.

03

Every question starts from scratch

And ends unchecked

Someone explains the business again — and it ends with a number nobody can verify. So nobody uses it for anything that matters.

04

The pack is stale on arrival

Three days to build

Out of date the morning it lands, and nobody quite trusts page four.

05

Quoted six figures for a "data strategy"

Twelve months

A target operating model and a roadmap. You will still not have the thing the roadmap depends on.

"None of this is a software problem. It is a management-information problem. Fix the record, and everything downstream starts working."

Professional Intelligence — The diagnosis

The business lives in people's heads

In email threads, in a spreadsheet somebody maintains, in a CRM nobody trusts. Nothing durable holds what is actually true.

Nothing arbitrates

Where two systems disagree, there is no rule that decides which wins. So no output can be trusted, so no output gets used.

Rolling up is a person re-typing

Your management view is somebody reading everything and writing a summary. That does not scale, it drifts, and it stops the week they are busy.

What we build

The operating record.

Five parts, installed in your business, in your language. Your dashboards become views of the record — and the record becomes the one place the truth lives.

§

One governing context file

The constitution

Who you are, how you are structured, what you sell, how you operate, and the standing rules — including what stays confidential at every level. Documented once. Every other record points at it.

One status document per area

The record

Finance, sales, operations, delivery, service, governance. Same fixed shape every time: headline, detail, open work, settled decisions, risks, and an append-only history.

A contract between levels

The roll-up

The management view reads five named sections from each area and nothing else. The roll-up becomes mechanical instead of manual — and the top level stops becoming a second version of the truth.

Boards rendered, never typed

The views

Edit the record, re-render, done. Nobody hand-edits a board, so nothing drifts — and refreshing seven boards is one command rather than one day.

Traceable by design

The discipline

Every figure traces to a named source and a dated record. Anything unverified is shown as unverified — nothing is estimated silently. History is append-only, so the record stands up to audit.

The boundary

What this is not — and who it is not for.

An unbounded engagement is an unprofitable one — for both sides. Naming the edge is part of the product.

Not a data warehouse, not a systems integration, not a replacement for your CRM or ledger. Those keep owning their own detail. The record reads from the systems you already have, and links to the rest.
Not a report. If the engagement ends with a document nobody operates, it failed. That is our definition, not a disclaimer.
Not for you if you won't name owners. If no individual's name goes against each area, the records will not be maintained and the system dies within six weeks. We will say so and decline.
Not for you if every tile must be filled. Some areas will show as unverified, because they are — that honesty is the point of the system.
Not tax, legal or financial advice. Your boards carry management information; statutory and tax positions stay with your accountant and solicitor.

The exit condition, stated up front: you should be able to run this without us. We will tell you when you can.

How it starts

Three steps. The first is free.

1

A conversation

Half an hour · no charge

You describe how a number gets to your desk today. We will tell you honestly whether this helps — and if it doesn't, we'll say so.

2

The Diagnostic

One day

You end the day with a written map of your information estate and a plan you own outright, whatever you decide next.

3

The Build

One week

You end the week with a working operating layer and boards your team refreshes themselves.

See your business on one board.

Half an hour, no charge. You talk, we listen, and we tell you straight whether this is worth your money. No slide deck. No pitch.
